IdeaSquare accelerating social impact from CERN's new campus
With the Science Gateway running since October 2023, IdeaSquare —located only a quick 5-minute walk away— will now be organically granted more visibility.
Bringing innovation closer to the public
Being part of CERN’s new campus allows us to amplify our outreach to a wider audience.
CERN recently inaugurated its centre for education and public outreach —the Science Gateway— at the heart of its new open-access campus. Closely located, IdeaSquare and the Science Gateway are thus bound —and willing— to cooperate intensely with each other. Our planned range of free outreach activities will leave visitors of all ages in awe regarding the work done at CERN.
IdeaSquare will play a key part in upcoming CERN Science Gateway offerings. We will adapt the lessons learned through our student and citizen activities and EU programmes, and apply them to future participatory workshops for the public. As part of CERN’s Science Gateway, we will hold workshops and masterclasses that are open to everyone, and which are centred around topics such as science, sustainability and future thinking. In addition, at IdeaSquare we intend to offer monthly visits to the space, showcasing our experiments and prototyped outputs.
