Connecting curious minds
Incremental or linear innovation is not enough to solve the challenges humanity is currently facing. Instead, exponential innovation capabilities and systemic thinking are needed to secure the future of our societies. It is in this context that IdeaSquare ties science together with open innovation initiatives, and hosts and organizes special events for curious minds and researchers interested in innovation knowledge.
When the building is not in full use, IdeaSquare can offer access to its open work areas, rapid prototyping facilities and its meeting rooms for short, deadline-driven Challenge Events, such as: Innovation Events, Workshops, Hackathons (an event compressed into a short number of days where participants work towards a concept prototype).

IdeaSquare opened its doors for the CERN Community: the start of a new network of people prototyping at CERN? Last February, IdeaSquare, the innovation space at CERN, opened its doors for a two days event for the internal community. The event offered visitors a unique opportunity to discover our rapid prototyping and multipurpose facilities and to learn how they could get involved.
