The IdeaSquare dark room was designed and prepared by Umut Kose and team in 2014 to test and calibrate 400 ICARUS Photo Multipliers for the Neutrino Platform
In this current phase of the Neutrino Platform R&D study focuses on photon detection systems to detect liquid argon scintillation light. Overall during this long R&D program, photon detection efficiency of SiPMs were measured by use of a monochromatic light source in the IdeaSquare dark room, designed and prepared by Umut Kose in 2014 to test and calibrate 400 ICARUS Photo Multipliers.
Umut and his team from the Neutrino Platform have been residents at IdeaSquare since 2014. They use the light room, dark room and prototyping facilities to further their goals of developing photon detection.
At any time, one to three members of the Neutrino Platform can be found at IdeaSquare working from their desks in the clean room. As long-term residents of the space, they constitute part of the memory and history of i2 and are always available to share their expertise in many fields over a coffee.
